Intellectual property (IP) refers to property rights that people or companies receive for their creative work. These include copyrights, patents, trade marks, and trade secrets. These rights serve to protect ideas, inventions, brands, and artistic works from unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution. Intellectual property is important to incentivize innovation and creativity and to ensure the protection of the rights of innovative authors, inventors, and designers.

With the cooperation agreement, the THI and Bayern Innovativ have now agreed to consolidate and expand their joint activities in the field of intellectual property. In particular, this includes cooperation in teaching through lectures, projects, and theses, practical semesters at Bayern Innovativ, and joint events.

The cooperation agreement is of particular importance for the new Master's degree program in Patent Engineering at the THI, a unique program in Germany that offers excellent career prospects at the interface of technology, IP law, and IP information and management.
