All offered Bachelor courses are admission-limited (which means we expect more applicants than available seats), which means they require an application in the application portal of the THI as well as and application at Hochschulstart. Except: Bachelor technical design!

When the higher secondary school certificate was acquired outside of Germany an additional application for the preliminary inspection documentation at uni-assist will be necessary.

Studienkolleg only is relevant for applicants who are interested in bachelor courses.

If the proof of education assessed by uni-assist e.V. does not meet the requirements, the recognition is made dependent on the passing of an additional exam. These additional exams are performed by the Studienkolleg for the universities of applied sciences of the free state of Bavaria in Coburg as determination exams (Feststellungsprüfung; FSP) for foreigners. For more information, please visit the Homepage of the Studienkolleg.

Upon recognition to the Studienkolleg, an applicant who strives for a technical course of studies can take the recognition exam in German and Mathematics at the Studienkolleg Coburg and then enter the Studienkolleg. In two semesters (1 year), the applicant will be prepared for the determination exam (German, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Technical Drafting and Informatics). Applicants who want to study Business Management also take the acceptance test exam in German and Mathematics at the Studienkolleg Coburg first and enter the Studienkolleg. For the determination exam, they are prepared in two semesters (1 year) in the subjects German, Mathematics, Business Management, Accounting, English and Informatics.

At good preparation, the Studienkolleg can be reduced to one semester or be dispensed with entirely.

After passing the determination exam, it is possible to matriculate at a Bavarian university of applied sciences. In certain courses of studies at Ingolstadt University of Applied Sciences, an internship is required for taking up studies. For information, see the information sheet "Information on preparatory internships“. If the internship was not performed in Germany, proof translated into German language must be submitted.

FAQs regarding Hochschulstart an the application in the portal of the THI

Admission of admission limited bachelor courses will be carried our by with the dialogue-oriented service procedure (in German: dialogorientiertes Serviceverfahren, short: DoSV) of "Hochschulstart".

The procedure is called dialogue-oriented, because applicants actively take part the admission procedure after they submitted their application(s). Applicants for example have to accept an admission offer, or put study courses in an order of importance.

Applicants can apply at various universities in Germany, but all their data will be merged at Hochschulstart. This enables to bring together the wishes of applicants and selection procedures of the universities. Vacant places can be passed on to the next applicant immediately.

Applicants at first have to register and apply at hochschulstart, then have to register, apply and upload documents in the application portal of the THI. The exchange of date will take place automatically.

More information, for example on phases and dates of the procedure can directly be found on the homepage of Hochschulstart.

The application period ot the THI differs from the application period of DoSV.
