admission of admission-limited Bachelor's courses will be carried out by the dialogue-oriented service procedure (in German: Dialogorientiertes Serviceverfahren, short: DoSV) of "Hochschulstart" which makes necessary applying at the Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt as well as applying at the portal of "Hochschulstart".

All offered Bachelor courses are admission-limited (which means we expect more applicants than available seats), which means they require an application in the application portal of the THI as well as and application at Hochschulstart.

The Institute for Executive Education may offer additional courses for professionals. For these courses application with Hochschulstart is not necessary.

Important facts for all bachelor applicants

Admission of admission limited bachelor courses will be carried our by with the dialogue-oriented service procedure (in German: dialogorientiertes Serviceverfahren, short: DoSV) of "Hochschulstart".

The procedure is called dialogue-oriented, because applicants actively take part the admission procedure after they submitted their application(s). Applicants for example have to accept an admission offer, or put study courses in an order of importance.

Applicants can apply at various universities in Germany, but all their data will be merged at Hochschulstart. This enables to bring together the wishes of applicants and selection procedures of the universities. Vacant places can be passed on to the next applicant immediately.

Applicants at first have to register and apply at hochschulstart, then have to register, apply and upload documents in the application portal of the THI. The exchange of date will take place automatically.

The application period ot the THI differs from the application period of DoSV.

Application period of DoSV:

  • 15th of April to 15th of July of a year for the winter term
  • 15th of October to 15th of January of a year for the summer term

The application period at the Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt are as follows:

  • 2nd of May to 15th of July of a year for the winter term
  • 15th of November to 15th of January of a year for the summer term

You can already register to DoSV at the beginning of the application period there, but the study course of the THI will appear for selection only after the application period of the THI started.

Applicants who acquired their higher secondary school certificates outside of Germany have to mind additional steps. Information on that can be found on our page for applicants from abroad.

Applicants who did not yet receive their higher secondary school certificate have to give us information on that in the questions-part in the application portal of the THI. They will then have the  possibility to upload the higher secondary school certificate until 27th of July (for applications for the winter term). When applying to the summer term the higher secondary school certificate has to be uploaded until the end of the application period.

Applicants from abroad have to get their higher secondary school certificates recongnised, all necessary information on that can be found on our page for applicants from abroad.

Depending on the current date you either get information from the application progress and the upload documents - area ouf your application portal of the THI, or the application portal of DosV.

When you missed the application period you can not take part the regular admission process.

In case there are still vacanciesat the end of coordination phase II the THI will take part the clearing procedure of DosV.

The preconditions for admission have to be met nevertheless, so please mind the additional information we provide for applicants from abroad.

The minimum grade for admission is not fixed before the admission process took part. You can have a look on the grades which where necessary for admission in the last years admission and enrollment.

For your application you do not have to submit certified copies of your documents.

It is absolutely sufficient to scan your documents (for example with a scan-app) and upload them in the application portal.

In case of admission you have to send certified hardcopies of all the documents named in the letter of admission to the THI to process enrollment. All necessary information will be available on your letter of admission and in the application portal of the THI.

After the beginning of coordination phase I offers of admission will be presented to applicants. Then an applicant accepts an offer of admission, he or she will receive a notification of admission through the application progress in the application portal ot the THI. The notification of admission will contain information how the enrolment procedure is processed.

Notices of refusal and notices of exclusion will be published during august/february.

A possible transfer of credits can be initiated by yourself after enrollment during your first semester. All necessary information then can be found on Moodle (request sheet, description if process, etc.). You will get username and password for accessing Moodle only after enrollment.

Facts for specific applicants

Applicants who acquired their higher secondary school certificate abroad need to prove that their previous education is sufficient for the respective study course at the Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt.

The pre-study internship is an internship which has to be absolved prior to enrollment and/or in the semester breaks until the begin of the 4th semester. The contents of the internship have to match the study course one applies for, and one can absolve it in a company of one's choice.
