Placement of skilled labour from Latin America via THI start-up "talentos"

The start-up company "talentos", which was spun off from AWARE, has set itself the goal of making it easier for highly qualified graduates from Latin America in the fields of IT and engineering to access attractive career opportunities in Germany in future, thereby also counteracting the shortage of skilled labor in the region.

"After more than ten years of experience in the placement of qualified students, I am convinced of the enormous potential of young professionals from Latin America for Germany as a business location," emphasizes founder Anne-Sophie Kopytynski. Co-founder Alessandro Zimmer adds: "We also have an extensive network of over 30 excellent universities in Latin America that support us locally in selecting suitable candidates with technological expertise." Argentinian co-founder Witold Kopytynski, winner of the MIT Technology AWARD "Innovators Under 35" for co-founding "arculus - a Jungheinrich company", says: "In future, the start-up 'talentos' will offer exclusive and fast access to highly qualified young professionals from Latin America that companies here in the region would not be able to find through traditional recruitment measures."

THI welcomes the initiative. "As a university, we want to do more to attract more skilled workers to the region and it is therefore important for us to support initiatives such as 'talentos' accordingly," says THI President Professor Walter Schober. THI is providing the start-up with networks, knowledge, and contacts from the university and is planning joint marketing campaigns to promote Germany as a university and business location.

The talent placement programme is to be launched shortly with Brazil as the pilot country. talentos" is currently filling its pool with outstanding IT and engineering graduates and is developing a matching platform that will allow companies looking to quickly and easily identify the best candidates for their vacancies. Depending on requirements, the start-up also offers support in the recruitment process as well as with relocation and the visa process for Germany.
