New wooden furniture for the campus - naturally sustainable

Students and staff help together and build stylish wooden couches

For the end-of-semester spurt, the battery-powered digger was unpacked on campus: professors, administrative staff, campus management and students set up two swinging couches partly sponsored by the company Rudolf Röss Bau, and pallets from the construction site were unceremoniously converted into a table. Of course, wood was the building material of choice, as it also plays an essential role in the teaching content. But the main thing was to end the summer semester on a good note. "We wanted to do an event where we build something together," said Professor Jana Bochert, the acting founding dean. In March, they came up with the idea of seating. Student council chair Jasmin Parys was surprised at how quickly the two swinging couches were set up: "We were done in an hour. We had super teamwork, it was really fun." The physical well-being was also taken care of thanks to grill master Prof. Blask.

The new furniture will certainly become popular islands of rest with the start of the winter semester in October - that's when three Bachelor's degree programmes start in Neuburg. Sustainable Civil Engineering will be added for the first time to the already established Industrial Engineering - Construction and Sustainability and Environmental Management.
