THI is one of the most research-intensive universities of applied sciences in Germany. The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is funding the projects "Mensch in Bewegung", "THI Success AI" and "Professional Tenure Track", among others, with a funding volume of over 30 million euros as part of federal-state agreements. THI President Professor Walter Schober was pleased to give the State Secretary an insight into the various projects: "Developing Ingolstadt from an industrial to a science and research location means making the location fit for the future. We are delighted that the THI is making a decisive contribution to this with the support of the BMBF."

CARISSMA professors presented their research activities in the field of vehicle safety to the State Secretary: With predictive accident detection and accident consequence mitigation, testing and safeguarding automated driving functions, research into human factors, networked mobility and V2X, safe electromobility and automotive IT security, they are helping to reduce the number of fatalities and serious injuries on the roads. The approaches were illustrated during a driving test at CARISSMA, which is 50 per cent funded by the BMBF.

PProfessor Dr Sabine Döring has held the Chair of Philosophy with a focus on practical philosophy at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen since 2008. In February 2023, she was appointed State Secretary by the Federal Minister of Education and Research, Bettina Stark-Watzinger.
