Climate chamber for the EGZ arrived

New milestone in the laboratory expansion of IIMo and CARISSMA

The new climate chamber for the analysis of HV traction batteries

Concrete foundation with clamping plate for tests on electric drives

Life is slowly coming to the Existenzgründerzentrum (EGZ) near Ingolstadt Village. Recently, the 18 m³ climate chamber was delivered and set up, enabling scientists to analyze and further develop entire HV traction batteries and entire passenger cars. Two concrete foundations with clamping plates for studies on electric traction systems in conjunction with new battery system designs are also now operational and available for research.

Laboratories for the teams of three THI professors, Prof. Endisch, Prof. Elger and Prof. Schweiger, are being created in the EGZ. The climate chamber will be shared. Until now, there was not enough space for such a large acquisition. By renting rooms at the EGZ, the researchers now have a spacious laboratory with different experimental areas at their disposal. Several laboratory locations are to be combined at the EGZ in the future. It is expected that the rented rooms in the EGZ will be occupied in April. In addition to laboratory space, office workplaces will also be created.
