How did you find out about your academic study programme?

I found out about the Biomedical Engineering study course on the website of Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt. The "Structure and content" points were already listed on the start page of the study course. The curriculum and module handbook also provided me with a lot of information about the content and structure of the programme.

Why did you choose your study course?

Because I am very interested in medicine and especially in the individual devices that can be developed, built and used to improve and maintain health. The combination of programming, engineering and medicine is particularly interesting. The THI also offers a high practical component through various internships. This gives you the opportunity to consolidate what you have learnt quickly and effectively.

What are the contents of your academic studies?

The first degree phase teaches the basics of electrical engineering, mathematics, Computer Science and human medical microbiology. The interdisciplinary internship, which combines all modules, is particularly important in this study course. The second degree phase deepens the topics and teaches specialised knowledge in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, processing signals from medical devices and other medical technology modules.

What's your tip for choosing a degree programme?

You should stay true to your own interests. Good information about the module content and career prospects is the foundation for a successful academic study programme.
