Infrastructure - an unwieldy word. But hardly anything in our society has a greater influence on prosperity and coexistence. In the inaugural event "Structural Civil Protection - Security, Risk and Resilience", which was well attended by students, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Norbert Gebbeken, President of the Bavarian Chamber of Civil Engineers, shed light on the structural adaptations required by the climate crisis.

In addition to his technical expertise, Norbert Gebbeken captivated his audience with his enthusiasm for the subject and encouraged the students to remain curious. "Getting to the bottom of things is what drives me to this day," said Gebbeken, who has been passionate about his profession for decades.

Afterwards, Professor Jana Bochert spoke about sustainable building. The lecture series, which Professor Oliver Blask will continue on 24 October at 6.15 pm, is aimed at students of the Sustainability Campus Neuburg and the interested public. It is intended to illustrate the need for a paradigm shift in the building industry by opening up different perspectives on relevant issues in this field. Participation in the lectures is free of charge.
