The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology is pleased to welcome a new member: Prof. Maximilian Schmid has held a professorship for Electrical Engineering and Digital Signal Processing since 1 October and is supporting us in teaching and research as the first junior professor at the faculty. Welcome to our faculty!

Prof Schmid studied electrical engineering and information technology. He completed his doctorate at the Technical University of Berlin in 2022 and most recently worked at the Fraunhofer Institute for Traffic Safety and Infrastructure.

Why did Maximilian Schmid return to the THI? His desire is to work very closely with research. The THI offers significantly more opportunities in this area, especially in comparison to other universities, says Schmid. He was also attracted to THI by the interesting junior professorship programme, which offered him the unique opportunity to become a professor.
