Ingolstadt, 16.06.2021

Refugees will again have the chance to apply for the "THIntegriert" programme at the Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) in the winter semester 2021/22. After the successful start of a first group in autumn 2020, a further iteration is now being planned. The programme with a university certificate is scheduled to end in March 2023. Applications for participation are possible until 15 July 2021.

"THIntegrated" is aimed at refugees who have already completed a technical, scientific or business degree in their home country or have acquired a comparable qualification. Using a holistic approach, the participants receive intensive support in terms of language, IT and personal skills as they enter the German labour market for the first time.

"We are very pleased that THIntegriert got off to such a successful start in autumn 2020. After our participants were able to develop their language skills, the focus is now on further qualification in labour market-relevant topics, such as digitalisation. We have also been able to support a participant's early career entry in this programme. This is an excellent basis for entering a second round with the THIntegrated university certificate," explains Prof. Dr. Alfred Quenzler, head of the programme.

THIntegrated" comprises a total of three training phases over the course of three semesters: In phase one, the refugees complete an intensive language course to attain German level C1. This is accompanied by an IT workshop and counselling for individual competence analysis. Phase two comprises five modules with digital learning content that teaches the basics of digital business, software development, internet technologies and agile methods, among other things. Soft skills such as rhetoric, presentation or intercultural training are also trained in this phase. The third phase includes a 20-week internship in regional partner companies. The entire programme is accompanied by mentoring by mentors from professional practice.

"THIntegriert" is organised by the Institut für Akademische Weiterbildung (IAW) and funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Contact by e-mail at thintegriert@thi.de. Further information on applying at: www.iaw-in.de
