The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology emerged from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, which existed until September 2019. Currently it offers three Bachelor's and four Master's degree programs. In the future, an expansion of the portfolio in the area of digital health technology and connected and automated mobility is planned.
Thank you for your interest in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology.
Today, our everyday life is no longer conceivable without electrical engineering and information technology. Powerful electronic devices and systems play a key role. Not only in business and society, but also in our everyday lives. Everyone is able to communicate with others at any time, be it via Internet, by mobile phone or landline. Electromobility, Autonomous Driving, Robotics and Industry 4.0 are just a few recent buzzwords that show that the way people communicate, produce and move will continue to change. At the same time, these examples point to the challenges that engineers in electrical engineering and information technology or related courses have to master in order to make the future resource and environmentally friendly.
In addition to the two core disciplines, with specialized study programs we respond to the requirements of high-tech labour markets, such as those of electromobility, mechatronics and automotive engineering. With degree programs regularly updated or newly designed, and innovative research projects, we offer graduates in many areas of business and society extraordinary perspectives for a varied and successful professional life.
Currently, the faculty comprises 27 professors, 2 permanent lecturers, numerous regular lecturers from industry, scientific staff, laboratory engineers in 16 modern laboratories, and administrative assistants.
With mutual respect, team spirit, enthusiasm, commitment, open-mindedness and a forward-looking approach to change, we work to ensure excellent quality in application-oriented teaching at bachelor and master level, in cooperative PhD-programmes, in applied research, in cooperation with international partners and diverse companies.
I invite you to personally participate in or to contribute - as a student, as an international visiting student, as an applicant for a teaching position, as a partner in a dual study program, in a research cooperation or as an employer for our graduates. We look forward to you!
