During the set-up phase, the management project has developed into the central control and communication platform within the SAFIR research partnership. Established processes and structures have proved their worth and will be continued and supplemented in the intensification phase. It is divided into partnership, innovation, communication and network management.

SAFIR Management and Goals

The task of the partnership management is the central control and coordination of the various project activities of SAFIR. Innovation management will control the entire innovation process of the network and create synergy potentials to other innovation processes and activities of the university. Communication Management is responsible for expanding internal and external communication while increasing SAFIR's visibility. The management project will focus on network management.

The main focus is on linking SAFIR with the other research activities of the THI and the initiation of funding projects with partners in order to make SAFIR permanent network.

The SAFIR network partnership pursues the following objectives:

SAFIR creates the center for vehicle safety 4.0 via competence networking
SAFIR further develops integral vehicle safety into global vehicle safety
SAFIR increases the international competitiveness of the participating companies
SAFIR expands applied road safety research
SAFIR promotes start-ups in the region and from the university on vehicle safety
SAFIR supports the development of Ingolstadt into a test field for networked mobility

Innovation and network management

In the intensification phase, the focus is on network management, building on the foundations laid in the development phase. In recent years, SAFIR has developed intensive application-oriented partnerships with players from industry, science and politics in the topic of vehicle safety from previously selective collaborations. The successful development of SAFIR is being continued via the network management and at the same time the basis for sustainable continuation is being created.

The identification and targeted promotion of innovative ideas remains a central element, with innovation management forming an independent pillar. In the intensification phase, cross-project networking will be further expanded in order to utilise existing synergies in a targeted manner. The plan is to deepen existing collaborations as well as to tap into new partners and sources of funding within and outside the university. A decentralised anchoring of the SAFIR network is planned, particularly in the IN institutes CARISSMA and IIMo as well as the AN institutes AININ and the Fraunhofer Application Center. In addition, the exchange with strategic university projects such as "Mensch in Bewegung" and the Latin American network AWARE will be cultivated. In innovation management, close cooperation is planned with the THI Startup Centre, particularly in the context of the EXIST project "TH-INspire" for the promotion of start-up projects.
