• Reading room seats: here you can work quietly on your own in a calm, focused atmosphere.
• Group study rooms: here you can engage in discussion with your colleagues and prepare your project or study together.
• Carrels: Individual cubicles primarily intended for writing bachelor's or master's theses, but which can also be used for short periods. Please note: The carrels are not suitable for telephone conferences, etc. (user guideline).

• PC Pool: Desktop computers are available here on which you can use pre-installed software (programlist.pdf) and surf the Internet. Please note: The PCs can only be used by members of the THI.

  THI students can use our reservation tool to reserve various workspaces.

• Chill-out room: Need a break from studying and want to relax a little? Sofas, deck chairs and beanbags are available here.
• Lounge: Want to chat over a cup of coffee or have a snack? Here you will find a coffee machine, a snack machine and a water dispenser. A selection of weekly and daily newspapers is also available.

You can use the reading room of our small interim library for work. Only quiet work is permitted here.

The first step is to use the library catalogue to find out which media are in our collection.

Electronic books can be accessed directly via the library catalogue. This can be done on site at the library and, for THI members, also from home.

Our collection in the reading room is arranged according to the Regensburg Classification System.

The call number is your key to this. It tells you which subject area your book belongs to and where you can find it.

     example: Your book has the call number 95/ZO 4200 E37(30)

→ 95 = Location of the book, here: Library of the TH Ingolstadt/ Reading Room

→ ZO 4200 = Subject area, here: Vehicle construction; Automotive engineering, general

For your orientation, you will also find the classification in the subject area on the front sides of the shelves.

You can also use our reservation tool to be guided to the shelf.

Simply enter the subject area, e.g. ZO 4200, in the search field.

No borrowing is necessary for e-books. Simply download the content you need and use it for an unlimited period of time.

Printed books can be borrowed via our terminals in the entrance area of the library locations. You take the books from the shelf yourself and then borrow them at the terminal.

A valid library card is required to borrow books. As an external user, you can apply for one using the following form. 

Members of the university can use their student or staff ID card.

Our library card is also valid at the libraries of the KU Eichstätt-Ingolstadt.

The regular loan period for books from our collection is four weeks, with the option of further renewal if there are no reservations.

Loan periods for interlibrary loans and branch ordersdiffer from the rule. It is therefore important to check your library account carefully.

In the library catalogue, you will find the ‘Login’ button at the top right after selecting the branch. Under ‘My data’ → ‘Account’ you can view your account and make renewals.

University members can renew up to five times, external users up to two times.

You can place a hold on it in the library catalogue. 

The current borrower will then no longer be able to renew the book. Once the book has been returned, you will receive a notification email and it will be set aside for you.

Books can be ordered between the TH Library in Ingolstadt and the Neuburg Campus and between the TH Library in Ingolstadt and the WFI Library of the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt via the catalogue. Simply click on ‘Order’ for the respective book in the library catalogue.

For both books and articles, you can place an interlibrary loan request in the library catalogue, i.e. you can order media from other academic libraries. As soon as these have arrived and been processed, you will receive a notification email and your order will be ready for you to collect. Article orders are sent directly to the person who ordered them in digital form.

Interlibrary loans are usually free of charge.

Borrowed books can be returned at the lending terminals at the respective locations and then placed on the rolling shelves provided.

In Ingolstadt, there is also a return machine where you can return your media 24/7.

Please note: Books must always be returned to the library where they were borrowed.

If you fail to return media items by the due date, you will receive a first reminder notice and be charged a fee of €7.50. This is in accordance with §18 of the General Terms of Use of the Bavarian State Libraries (ABOB). Further reminders will follow if the items are not returned.

Your library account will be blocked until the media in question are returned and the reminder fee is paid.
