Ingolstadt University of Technology sees itself as an international university and has enshrined this self-image in its mission statement and objectives. Its internationalisation standards are also reflected in the range of international degree programmes on offer, a comprehensive programme of subject-specific foreign language courses, and optional modules on international and intercultural topics.

The THI’s International Welcome Centre (IWC) is a service designed to support international students and visiting academics during their time with us. The shared aim of all organisational units at THI is to make their transition to life in our region as smooth as possible and to provide all the necessary information to this end. We support international students and staff in many ways, ranging from assistance on arrival and orientation, through integration into everyday university life and social life, to entry into the labour market. For example, our services include advice on topics such as residence permits, health insurance and language courses.

In addition to individual advice, we organise various events and workshops to encourage interaction between international and German students and thereby foster a sense of community. We value and recognise diversity as an asset that enriches our community and helps us achieve our shared goals in teaching, research and knowledge transfer. The International Welcome Centre plays a key role in realising this vision by ensuring that our international guests can enjoy enriching experiences at THI.
