  • Founding of the Fachhochschule Ingolstadt in the building of the Hohe Schule, the first state university in Bavaria (founded in 1472)

  • Election of Prof. Dr. Walter Schober as new president of the university

  • Appointment as "Technischen Hochschule Ingolstadt" (THI) within the framework of a competitive procedure
  • Foundation of the Graduate Center
  • Successful participation in the DAAD funding programme "Strategic Partnerships and Thematic Networks" with the AWARE project

2014

  • Completion of the campus extension and ceremonial opening

2015

  • Successful completion of the subsystem accreditation procedure at IAW

2016

  • Opening of the CARISSMA research and test centre which will be developed into the nationwide scientific control centre for vehicle safety
  • Successful participation in the FH Impuls funding programme with the SAFIR project
  • Foundation of the Center of Entrepreneurship (CoE) to strengthen the promotion of start-ups at the THI
  • The THI talent program starts with the first cohort

  • Opening of the Audi Confucius Institute Ingolstadt
  • Successful participation in the "Innovative University" funding programme of the BMBF with the "MenschINBewegung" project
  • Occupation of the Villa Heydeck by the IAW

  • Successful re-accreditation of the "family-friendly university" audit
  • Submission of the final report of the structural advisory council "Campus Neuburg"

2018

  • Successful completion of the HRK Audit on "Internationalisation"
  • Move to the new premises in the Donaukurier building in Stauffenbergstraße
  • Council of Ministers decisions to expand the THI to 10,000 students
  • Establishment of a Fraunhofer application center for networked mobility and infrastructure

2019

  • Foundation of the Artificial Intelligence Network Ingolstadt GmbH (AININ) with 24 scientists in cooperation with Audi, MediaMarkt Saturn, Klinikum Ingolstadt, Fraunhofer, City of Ingolstadt and KU Eichstätt-Ingolstadt
  • From winter semester 2019/20, there will be five faculties (THI Business School, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering and Management)
  • Ceremony for the 25th anniversary of the Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt on October 07, 2019 in the Ingolstadt City Theater
