On Friday, 23 May, we met them online and learned about their program expectations:
- Bruna (Science & Technology, UFSC): She views sustainability as crucial in today's job market. Her thesis aims to apply sustainability principles to real-world healthcare. As she nears graduation, she is eager to deepen her knowledge and start practical applications in this field.
- Paulo Ricardo (Naval Engineering, UFSC): He highlights the urgent need to decarbonize the naval sector—one of the world’s most polluting industries. He’s also passionate about biopolymers and sees strong potential in integrating 3D printing technologies into sustainable innovations.
- Kamylo (Mechatronics, UFSC): Driven by a desire to tackle environmental, social, and economic challenges through innovation, he’s currently working on academic articles about the intersection of artificial intelligence and sustainability to provide possible solutions.
- Milena (Mechanical Engineering, UFPR): Involved in recycling materials for 3D printing and developing content for sustainable engineering course, her challenge is balancing engineering efficiency with environmental consciousness.
- Isis (Information Management, UFPR): Believes in the power of information and public communication to create a more just and sustainable world.
What inspired us most during this meeting was seeing how all of students, despite coming from diverse fields and backgrounds, share a common commitment to sustainability. This highlights the importance of initiatives like sustainED in uniting people to create genuine solutions.
We cannot wait to welcome them to Neuburg and begin this exciting exchange of ideas, cultures, and sustainable solutions.
