Lehraufträge an der Fakultät Nachhaltige Infrastruktur

For the subject Technology and Society, we are looking for a lecturer (m/f/d) who can supplement and deepen our course offerings as a specialist from March or April 2026 onwards.

Your area of responsibility:

• You will teach the Technology and Society course in the Master's degree program Sustainability Management and Technologies of the Faculty of Sustainable Infrastructure at Ingolstadt University of Applied Sciences (THI).
• The course of 4 SWS (6 ECTS) is taught in English.
• The content of the course includes the following topics:
  Role of technology in society and the mutual impacts of science, technology, and society, History of technological advances, Humanity-technology relationship, Social construction of knowledge and technology, Impact of technological advances on humans and society, Role of technology for a sustainable transformation.
• Your course times are based on the framework calendar of the respective winter semester (mid-March 2026 to July 2026) and can be scheduled flexibly within this framework by arrangement.
• To increase flexibility, block courses and online courses are possible.
• The position can also be taken up on a job-sharing basis.
• You will plan the individual lectures independently.
• You will get access to the electronic media used at THI and will also be able to use these for teaching purposes.

Your profile:

• You have a degree in Sociology, Science and Technology Studies (STS) or adjacent fields and have teaching experience, e.g. through previous positions as external lecturer.
• You are proficient in English at level C1 or higher.
• You can look back on at least 3 years of professional work experience.
• You enjoy working with students and have strong communication skills.
• You are experienced in interacting with students from various cultural backgrounds.
• You are familiar with modern electronic media. 

The contract is limited to the duration of the course, i.e. for a maximum of one semester. A longer-term collaboration is possible and sought by the university. Remuneration, including travel expenses, is based on the applicable rates for lecturers at Ingolstadt University of Applied Sciences.
