Media Psychology and Digital Business (B. Sc.)

Application period for the winter semester 2027/28: 2 May to 15 July 2027

We create added value in the digital world

A large part of our everyday life today is digital. On the one hand, this applies to our private lives, where we use social media or shop online, for example. On the other hand, it also applies to companies, which are increasingly interacting with their customers and employees via digital channels. In the innovative Media Psychology and Digital Business (B.Sc.) degree program, we focus on how digital situations and experiences can be systematically designed to create added value for customers and companies. To this end, we use and combine findings and methods from media psychology and modern business administration.

... and excellent future prospects for our students

The unique combination of modern psychology in the context of digital business models qualifies our students for numerous promising professional activities, for example in the fields of (digital) product development, user experience design, (online) marketing, social media, innovation & entrepreneurship, corporate communications, market research, human resources, and research & development. The positioning of the Media Psychology & Digital Business degree program with its focus is unique in southern Germany.

Testimonials

Kerstin Bücker, Head of Communication and Children's Rights, UNICEF Germany

“Many thanks to the students of the Media Psychology and Digital Business degree program who worked on the topic of proximity in donation communication for UNICEF. We were really impressed by the many creative, theoretically sound and enthusiastically presented concept ideas."

Florian Bockes, User Experience Consultant Spiegel Institut

"Our cooperation with the "Media Psychology & Digital Business" course at Technische Hochschule Ingostadt was a great experience and a real success story. We look forward to future joint projects."

Stefanie Gauff, Marketing Manager at UVEX Safety Group

“The first cooperation project between uvex safety and the TH Ingolstadt with the 'Media Psychology & Digital Business' course was a complete success. In the project, the students examined selected touchpoints, conducted expert interviews and identified practical optimization options.”

Dr. Leon Brudy, Business Development Manager Garmin Health

“It was a great workshop with exciting presentations on the topic of corporate wellness, where I was able to learn a lot from the students myself. Many thanks to Prof. Eller and the students for their professional cooperation.”

Maximilian Kaeding, Recruiting Expert Volkswagen Group

“The close cooperation between Volkswagen and Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt in terms of practical application and theory has provided valuable impetus for the further development of AI initiatives in Volkswagen's recruiting and employer branding. Students studying ”Digital Business" and “Media Psychology and Digital Business” have designed an AI system that automatically informs applicants and generates lasting enthusiasm for the company through a personalized relationship."

Miriam Schmid, Vice President Attract and Select, Deutsche Telekom

“As part of our collaboration with Hochschule Ingolstadt on the topic of the candidate journey, students analyzed key touchpoints along the applicant journey and developed practical recommendations for improvement. The results were analytically sound, creative, and immediately applicable to our work. We will incorporate several of the approaches they developed into our next steps.”

Sabrina Marx and Caroline Duchon, Talent Acquisition Experts at FESTO

“The joint project with THI on the use of AI by applicants during the interview process was extremely valuable to us. We were particularly impressed by the structured approach, the students’ dedication, and the thoughtful and practical recommendations for action. The experiment with AI-assisted responses in video interviews provided us with important insights for further developing our selection processes to ensure they remain fair, valid, and future-proof in the age of artificial intelligence. For us, the project clearly demonstrates that AI is significantly transforming recruiting, and that is precisely why well-founded, scientifically supported insights like these are so important.”

Cosima Schütze, Student

“I came across the course by chance and am really excited to be studying “MPS” . The versatility of the course, the highly qualified teaching staff and the numerous opportunities to apply theoretical knowledge in practical projects make studying here particularly attractive to me.”

Leon Kindl, Student

“What makes this course particularly attractive to me is the opportunity to put what I have learned directly into practice. I really enjoy applying the knowledge I have acquired directly and seeing how psychological concepts unfold in the digital environment in real-life situations.”

Iris Seib, Student

“I particularly like the psychological content, which simply makes the whole thing special. I particularly like the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge within in-depth modules in cooperation with companies.”

Tim Löw, Student

"What I particularly appreciate about my degree course is its interdisciplinary character and the associated diversity and broad positioning of business administration, psychology, digitalization and general educational content."

Benjamin Nuebel, Lecturer Media Psychology and Digital Business (B. A.) and Storyteller-in-Chief at CRU

“In my Media Production Digital lecture, we develop strategic brand and communication concepts. Students are given the opportunity to implement individual projects, which I support to the best of my ability with my practical experience.”

Christine Hennighausen, Professor Media Psychology and Digital Business (B. A.)

“If this innovative course had been available when I was a student, I would have enrolled immediately. It combines practical know-how with cutting-edge theories from media psychology and digital business - which is exactly what companies are looking for.”
