What is a tuition fee waiver?

If you have received a tuition fee waiver, you do not have to pay the study fees.

How can I obtain a tuition fee waiver?

During the application process, tuition fee waivers are granted to selected high-achieving students. These are "qualification-related waiver scholarships". The decision is made in the selection process.

Can I apply for qualification-based tuition fee waivers myself?

You cannot apply for qualification-based tuition fee waivers yourself. You will be informed upon admission via the PRIMUSS-portal, whether or not you have been granted a tuition fee waiver.

How long does the tuition fee waiver apply for?

The tuition fee waiver is valid for a period of 2 semesters.

Can the tuition fee waiver be extended?

You cannot apply yourself. Towards the end of your second study semester your academic achievements will be assessed. If your academic performance is at least 80%  of  the required ECTS per semester with a grade point average of  2,0 (Master programme) respectively 1,7 (Bachelor programme) or above in your transcript of records, your tuition fee waiver may be extended for another two semesters.

Can I change my study programme?

In the following cases your tuition fee waiver is no longer valid: if you change the study programme at THI (a change requires a successful application for said programme) or if you exceed the standard period of study in your programme.

In this case you will have to pay the tuition fees.
