Artificial intelligence is a rapidly growing scientific discipline. Companies and organisations in all sectors have long since recognised the importance and potential of artificial intelligence. There is a huge demand for qualified professionals who can actively shape the digital future through their expertise in the field.

The degree programme prepares you for the professional and technical requirements for a job in this field. You will acquire in-depth knowledge by dealing with the latest methods of artificial intelligence, e.g. deep learning in the important fields of computer vision as well as language and text understanding. An additional goal of the study programme is the creation of a theoretical-scientific basis for the possibility of a subsequent doctorate or work in the scientific field. Admission and application

Applying for a degree course

The programme starts in winter term (October 1st).

Application period

Application periods for winter term start May 2nd, for summer term Nov. 15 each year. Please find all relevant info on application on our Master application from abroad-pages.

Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline with either 210 ECTS credit points is required. Plese see the Statutes of ths course for details

The programme is held in German, so a high level of German proficiency, usually at leas level B2, is required.

Dual studies or studies with in-depth practical

The dual studies programme enables a combination of practical training elements in a company with the theoretical education provided by the university. There is a choice of either the joint model (academic study + vocational training) or the degree course with vocational experience (academic study + intense practical phases). There is an obvious advantage to students here: practically oriented academic study generally enables a particularly smooth transition from university to the world of work. What is more, the student usually receives financial remuneration from the company concerned.

In the joint model, students may start working at the company several months before the start of the first semester, depending on the company concerned. At the start of the course there is an alternation between theory (during the semester) and practical experience (between semesters and during the practical semesters). In order to embark on a dual studies programme, students have to apply to both a company and to THI (be sure to take note of company application deadlines!).

Job profiles

Graduates can work in any company or industry in which artificial intelligence methods and techniques are developed and used. In addition to working as a developer, consulting tasks are also conceivable. The Master's also qualifies for a possible career in the scientific field with an optional doctorate.
