The course provides general business management modules combined with the attractive benefits of an international orientation. Students can specialise in their major in different management functions (amongst others marketing and sales, digital business or controlling and finance). Learning a foreign language (Chinese, French or Spanish), participating in a study abroad programme, and a compulsory international internship are further components of the Programme.

The following links provide specific information about the procedures for determine the course-specific suitability and the application process and for admission to the undergraduate degree programme International Management.
Admission requirements for international students:
Anyone with an international university degree/higher education qualification wanting to study at a university in Germany needs a so-called Hochschulzugangsberechtigung (HZB), or higher education entrance qualification. This lets applicants show that their educational background or professional qualification allows them to study in Germany, i.e. they have the necessary higher education entrance qualification to register for a course.
The recognition of the qualification is linked to certain requirements. If the certificate of education is recognised as a higher education entrance qualification in Germany, the international student may apply for all courses (general qualification) or for certain courses (subject-specific qualification). Two to three semesters of study in the home country may be recognised as a higher education entrance qualification in Germany, depending on the country of origin. The International Management programme gives an attractive international orientation for students because they are expected to study in two world market regions (e.g. Europe and Asia). A compulsory theoretical semester abroad at a partner university and a 20-week practical semester abroad must be completed at an international company are integral part of the programme. It is advised to follow the study plan. The students are supported by the THI International Office and Career Service.
A special opportunity is the Double Degree. You study for at least one year at one of our partner universities in Scotland, Australia, Mexico or Canada. After successfully completing your studies, you receive a double degree. For more information regarding the double degree contact our International Office.

The dual studies programme enables a combination of practical training elements in a company with the theoretical education provided by the university. There is a choice of either the joint model (academic study + vocational training) or the degree course with vocational experience (academic study + intense practical phases). There is an obvious advantage to students here: practically oriented academic study generally enables a particularly smooth transition from university to the world of work. What is more, the student usually receives financial remuneration from the company concerned.
In the joint model, students may start working at the company several months before the start of the first semester, depending on the company concerned. At the start of the course there is an alternation between theory (during the semester) and practical experience (between semesters and during the practical semesters). In order to embark on a dual studies programme, students have to apply to both a company and to THI (be sure to take note of company application deadlines!). See here for details of partner companies.
More info on our dual studies-pages, or check dual cooperation partner companies. Even if no partner company is currently active in this degree programme, you are welcome to contact us.
FAQs
The so called „Grundpraktikum“ is part of the studies and together with the advanced practical semester it combines the theoretical part of the studies with work experience. The content and the objectives of the “Grundpraktikum” can be found in the module handbook. It has a duration of 8 weeks and it can only be completed during the semester break.
The 8 weeks of the „Grundpraktikum“ can be completed at the end of the second semester or splitted into two parts of 4 weeks after the first semester and 4 weeks after the second semester. It has to be completed at the latest until the beginning of the fourth semester.
Students who have already completed an internship that fulfills the requirements before starting their studies may apply for the recognition of their internship as “Grundpraktikum” via our PRIMUSS students’ Portal.
In case of any questions about the recognition (process) please send an e-mail to praktikum@thi.de.

Due to the international orientation of this study, us students have amazing opportunities to develop our English skills and learn further languages!
Lisa Cinjakov, Studentin Bachelor International Management

Many of our professors have great international experiences in several well-known firms that they can tell us about. Those make the lessons very interesting and are helpful for our future in international companies.

Through many courses being held by lecturers working at internationally acting companies, major languages spoken in the business world such as Chinese as a part of the program and nearly a third of the programs time being abroad, the international management bachelor program prepares students for a future in an international working environment.
