As part of the courses “Global Markets” (4th semester, Bachelor's degree program in Global Economics and Business Management) taught by Prof. Dr. Katharina Schauberger and “Global Business & Economics 2” (2nd semester, Master's degree program in Global Business) taught by Prof. Dr. Alois Rauscher, an engaging online guest lecture on the topic of “Country Risk Analysis” took place.
The speaker was Luca Moneta, Senior Economist at Allianz Trade (Italy). He provided students with a practical and insightful overview of how macroeconomic, political, and structural risks are systematically analyzed and assessed worldwide. The lecture offered not only a solid introduction to Allianz Trade's Country Risk Rating but also demonstrated how this tool supports companies in making international investments and managing risk.
Particular attention was paid to current challenges such as geopolitical tensions, rising insolvency figures, and a potential decline in global trade. In addition, various risk mitigation strategies were presented – ranging from credit insurance to structured financial solutions.
Potential career paths at Allianz Trade were also discussed, highlighting the interface between economic analysis and the insurance industry.
Guest lectures like this one provide students with valuable practical insights and are an essential component of the educational experience at THI Business School.
The application deadline for Global Business is July 15, and for Global Economics and Business Management August 31.
