What will the region of tomorrow look like? Future Lab at the KUS Innovation Day

What developments will shape the Pfaffenhofen district in the coming years? What consequences will this have for businesses, local authorities, and the region as a business location? These questions will be the focus of the ‘Future Pfaffenhofen’ future lab at the KUS innovationday on the 16th of July 2026. Together with the Bavarian Foresight Institute of the THI, KUS is launching a dialogue on economic, technological, and social trends and their significance for the region.

The KUS innovationday will take place from 11 am to 5 pm at the Pfaffenhofen District Office. The Future Lab is a key part of the day’s programme and will be held from 1 pm to 4 pm in the Rentamtssaal.

Led by Dr Gerhard Schönhofer and the team from the Bavarian Foresight Institute, participants will analyse current scenarios for the district. The focus will be on developments that could bring about lasting change to the economy and society, as well as possible courses of action for regional stakeholders.

Through the Future Labs, the KUS has been creating a space for discussion on key issues for the future for several years now. Representatives from business, academia, politics, and public administration are given the opportunity to contribute different perspectives and develop new ideas for the district.

“The future does not happen by chance. It is shaped – through dialogue, new perspectives and the willingness to recognise developments at an early stage and act together,” says Dr Gerhard Schönhofer from the Bavarian Foresight Institute at THI.

The ‘Zukunft Pfaffenhofen’ future lab builds on the insights gained from previous events and continues the collaborative thinking process aimed at the further development of the district. The KUS innovationday is aimed at businesses, local authorities, institutions and anyone interested in innovation, transformation and regional issues for the future.
