With enGlobe_connect, THI is setting another milestone in the expansion of long-term international partnerships. The programme is part of the DAAD initiative "HAW.International" and aims to closely interlink academic studies, practical experience, and research transfer in strategically relevant future fields.
The core of the project is the institutionalized cooperation between the THI and the Universidad Militar Nueva Granada in Bogotá, as well as the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla in Puebla. In practical project formats, students from the three universities work on real-life tasks set by international companies - Adidas Colombia and Volkswagen de México - in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, and User Experience Design.
The closing and transfer event at THI marked the successful completion of the first project cycle and, at the same time, highlighted the programme's political, academic, and economic relevance. THI President Professor Walter Schober emphasised the strategic dimension: "The high-calibre visit shows the importance that all participants attach to this cooperation. We look forward to further dialogue with Latin America and to welcoming students from the region." Mexican Ambassador Quiroga Fernández and Colombian Consul General Hernández Alarcón echoed this sentiment. They also emphasised the importance of cooperation.
Based on the successful pilot project, en-Globe_connect is creating resilient structures for long-term mobility and international practice formats. Further stays in Mexico, Colombia, and Ingolstadt are planned. The programme thus makes a substantial contribution to THI's sustainable internationalisation strategy and to the university's positioning in global education and innovation networks.
