This is how I informed myself:

I mainly informed myself via university websites, as well as general online research on the Biomedical Engineering study course. I also looked at the course content, career opportunities and experience reports.

That's why I chose the study course at THI:

It was clear to me from the start that I wanted to study something technical. The Biomedical Engineering study course at THI immediately appealed to me because it combines technology with medicine and is also very practice-oriented.

My tip for study orientation:

To get a rough direction for your own interests, study orientation tests or information fairs such as HIT can be very helpful. Personally, social media also helped me to gain an initial insight into student life, the campus and various study courses.

Contents of my academic study programme:

During your academic studies, you first learn the basics of maths, electrical engineering, Computer Science and medicine. This content is combined in interdisciplinary laboratory courses.
In the higher semesters, the content of medical technology is then deepened.

You should have these character traits for the study course:

Curiosity and a willingness to learn about technology and medicine.

My favourite thing about the THI:

The small study groups, the high practical component in the academic study programme and the open, friendly interaction with each other.

You should have these professional strengths for the study course:

Important subject-related strengths are primarily maths, physics and Computer Science as well as a basic interest in biology.

My favourite experience/project during my academic studies:

The final project in the interdisciplinary laboratory course in which you were able to apply your theoretical knowledge in practice.

My insider tips for student life:

Definitely go to the orientation days before the first semester and generally take advantage of the university offers.
