Profile

This is how I informed myself:

I looked at the curriculum and module handbook on the homepage. We also had a "travelling day" from school to THI.

That's why I opted for the degree programme at THI:

I chose the degree programme because I particularly enjoyed maths at school. The mechanical engineering degree programme actually covers all the basics, which is why you can work in pretty much any field afterwards.

My tip for study orientation:

At the beginning, you should be clear about what interests, strengths and abilities you have. Then it's best to write down a few degree programmes that appeal to you, as well as their advantages and disadvantages. And as a final tip: Just try out your chosen degree programmes in person!

Contents of my degree programme:

Statics and materials engineering, as well as design and thermodynamics, are all part of the degree programme. There are internships in many subjects, which give you a better understanding of the subject matter and also offer a nice change from everyday lectures.

You should have these character traits for the degree programme:

Stamina, especially in the foundation course

What I like best about the THI:

Relatively small study groups, which is why you actually always know each other and that all the professors are really always ready to help with questions.

You should have these professional strengths for the degree programme:

An interest in STEM subjects, especially maths and physics

My insider tip for student life:

The parties/pub crawls organised by StudentsLife are a great way to meet new people.
