Spoken and Natural Language Understanding

If it is already difficult for people to understand spoken or written words "correctly" and to express information comprehensibly in speech or text, then it is even more of a challenge for machines. Whether it's a voice assistant function in a smartphone, a dictation function in an email program or word suggestions when entering text: the latest artificial intelligence methods are used everywhere to extract semantic information from unstructured speech and text data or to artificially generate new text and speech content.

In our research projects in the field of higher education & AI and public transport & AI, basic AI research meets application.
