The paper titled “Mission statement and social impact: Shedding light on the contribution of Italian B Corps to society,” co-authored by Prof. Dr. Cristian R. Loza Adaui (THI Business School), Prof. Dr. Giorgio Mion, Prof. Dr. Angelo Bonfanti and Prof. Dr. Veronica de Crescenzo (University of Verona, Italy) and published at Long Range Planning Journal has been nominated for Best Publication of the year 2023 by B Academics network, which is dedicated to “accelerate the sustainable business movement by studying B Lab, B Corporation certification and benefit corporations” around the world.
 

This publication presents valued insights into the pivotal societal contributions of B Corporations. Loza Adaui was delighted with the nomination and emphasized that "the nomination underscores our commitment to academic excellence, innovation and social impact." 
 

The following finalist papers were nominated for the price:
•    “Mission Statement and Social Impact: Shedding Light on the Contribution of Italian B Corps to Society”, published in Long Range Planning.
•    “The Consequences of Financial Leverage: Certified B Corporations’ Advantages Compared to Common Commercial Firms”, published in Journal of Business Ethics
•    “Mission, governance, and accountability of benefit corporations: Toward a commitment device for achieving commercial and social goals”, published in European Management Review.
•    “Pathways to social value and social change: An integrative review of the social entrepreneurship literature”, published in International Journal of Management Reviews.
 

In the end, the winner was the paper "The Consequences of Financial Leverage: Certified B Corporations’ Advantages Compared to Common Commercial Firms" by Ine Paeleman, Nadja Guenster, Tom Vanacker, and Ana Siqueira.
