Customer first! The digital customers of the future are mobile-connected, want sustainable consumption, can be inspired and "nudged "* and can be served predictively. Prof. Dr. Christian Stummeyer, Professor of Business Informatics and Digital Commerce at THI Business School, presented these and other theses to more than 200 guests at the "1. PRIMUS Wissensforum Kärnten" in Villach, Austria.

In his presentation entitled "Digital Future - Rethinking Success!", he outlined that companies need to understand the success factors of the digital world in order to survive in global competition. The new generation of customers and buyers alike are increasingly "digital natives", i.e. people who have grown up with the Internet. That's why, Stummeyer said, companies need to develop their own vision, strategy and roadmap that take this development into account. He emphasized that employees need to acquire new skills and stressed the need for lifelong learning.

*nudging: being "gently guided" in consumption, e.g., by discount promotions.
