Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) is awarding a sustainability prize for pupils for the first time in 2021. The prize pot includes prize money totalling over 5,000 euros as well as a support package for submitted projects. Pupils from the 10th grade onwards can take part. Those who are currently engaged in an ecological or social year, for example, can also participate. In the categories "Team" and "Individual", prizes will be awarded for projects or work inside and outside of the daily school routine that can be assigned to one or more of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. In addition, an audience award will be presented.

"We want to give a stage to pupils whose commitment was hardly visible during the pandemic. Sustainable concepts thrive on involving as many people as possible, and this is the focus of the award," explains organiser and jury member Bettina Markl from THI. When registering, a short video depicting the respective project must be submitted. The status of the work is of secondary importance. The idea and the spirit count more than milestones that have already been realised.

The university and its network partners offer to accompany all participants in the further implementation of their projects and to support them with contacts. The network partners and sponsors of the prizes are the Hipp company, IFG Ingolstadt, Initiative Regionalmanagement Region Ingolstadt e.V. (IRMA) and the Institut für angewandte Nachhaltigkeit (inas).

Registration is possible until 11 June at the latest. More information at: www.thi.de/go/nachhaltigkeitspreis
