Ingolstadt University of Applied Sciences (THI) has awarded the Deutschlandstipendium to 31 students. The sponsorship of 300 euros per month for one year is awarded to excellent students with outstanding achievements who are also socially committed. This year, 460 applications were received. Among the scholarship recipients are 25 Bachelor students and six Master students.

Due to the current situation, the official ceremony took place virtually. THI President Prof. Dr. Walter Schober and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Daniel Großmann, Dean of Studies at the Faculty of Business and Economics and member of the selection committee, presented the certificates to the scholarship recipients and the certificates of thanks to the 16 sponsors via video conference. In addition to the sponsors, the scholarship holders had the opportunity to briefly introduce themselves. When asked how they will use their scholarship, most of the scholarship recipients answered that they plan to use the money to help finance their studies or to finance a semester or language course abroad. One scholarship holder will donate the money to those in need.

Prof. Dr. Walter Schober: "We are proud of the outstanding academic achievements and the special social commitment of our scholarship holders, which was also a selection criterion. Our thanks go to the donors, who are committed to promoting the performance of our talents with the scholarship."

THI has been awarding the Deutschlandstipendium for nine years. The Deutschlandstipendium is the largest public-private project in the education sector in Germany. Since 2011, it has supported talented students from all disciplines nationwide with 300 euros a month, half of which is provided by private sponsors such as companies, foundations and individuals. The other half is contributed by the federal government.
