Students of Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) have developed mobility concepts for the two South Tyrolean cities of Bruneck and Brixen, which they were allowed to present at the highest political level. Provincial Councillor Daniel Alfreider was enthusiastic about the ideas the students had developed, as Prof. Dr. Harry Wagner, the head of the project seminar, reported.

To examine mobility in the two cities of Bruneck and Brixen with regard to short distances, with a focus on CO2 reduction, that was the approach the students were given at the beginning of the project in the winter semester. All important routes should be reachable within 15 minutes. This was followed by citizen surveys, on-site analyses and finally the proposal of concrete measures to improve intermodality and thus also the quality of life in the two cities. "I think we have given good impulses," Prof. Dr. Harry Wagner is certain.

A central role was played by bicycles as well as ride sharing offers, i.e. carpooling opportunities at important locations for both e-bikes and car shuttles. The prerequisite for this is an intelligent parking guidance system and sufficient charging stations. All functions could be connected via a mobility app.
