Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) is again inviting students to the lecture series "Energy - Environment - Sustainability" in the winter semester 2020/21. The lecturers come from scientific and economic practice. Target groups are students, pupils, colleagues, politicians, environmental representatives and all interested parties.
The 45-minute lectures take place on Wednesdays at 18.30 hrs. Afterwards, the lecturers are available for discussions. The event is being organised by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Sabine Bschorer, Professor of Fluid Mechanics, Energy Technology and Process and Environmental Engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Head of the "Energy Systems and Renewable Energies" programme.
Prof. Bschorer: "The topics 'Energy - Environment - Sustainability' are increasingly the subject of social discussions. The aim of the lecture series is to provide the general public with background knowledge on these topics through comprehensible lectures. Professors from our research institutes InES and INAS as well as representatives of the industrial partners in research and teaching will have their say.
The event kicks off on 21 October with Dr. Rüdiger Recknagel, who is responsible for environmental protection at AUDI AG. The title of his presentation is: "Mission: Zero - the Audi environmental programme for consistently sustainable production". Recknagel: "Effective climate protection requires the use of environmentally friendly and sustainable technologies. As the Environmental Officer of a globally producing car manufacturer, it is a particular concern of mine to inspire young people and especially graduates of technical courses of study, such as mechanical engineering and energy technology, for environmental protection in all its facets, even beyond the boundaries of the company. As future specialists, they play a key role in developing and providing technological solutions for a more sustainable society and economy of tomorrow".
After registering, it is possible to attend the lectures online in person in compliance with hygiene protection measures, but also at the same time without registering. Further information on the lecture dates and registration:
