The "Corona Penfriendships" campaign of the Technischen Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI), initiated as part of the knowledge transfer project "Mensch in Bewegung", has been successful. The aim of the campaign was to bring joy to people who live in care facilities and receive little or no visitors. Citizens from all over Ingolstadt and the region took part. Especially the Gnadenthal-Mädchenrealschule in Ingolstadt participated with several classes and sent in letters, drawings, small gifts and self-made masks.

Dr. Andrea Prexl, project officer in the "Mensch in Bewegung" team, distributed the approx. 60 letters received to the Matthäus-Stift, the Bienengarten, the AWO Seniorenzentrum Katharinengarten and the Hollerhaus.

"It can be so easy to make our residents happy. The letters, pictures and gifts can be picked up by the residents every day and enjoyed again and again. They sense that someone is thinking of me and gives me courage and confidence," Marietta Schmidt, specialist service manager at Matthäusstift, says about the campaign.

The "Mensch in Bewegung" team plans to continue the campaign and is currently actively seeking cooperation partners. Kindergartens and school classes in particular are called upon to participate. Contact can be made by e-mail to menschinbewegung@thi.de.
