Technische Hochschule Ingolstadet (THI) started the 2022 summer semester on Tuesday, 15 March, with around 320 new students. They were welcomed by THI President Prof. Dr. Walter Schober on the first day of lectures in the auditorium. After many weeks of corona-induced digital teaching, face-to-face teaching is now possible again.

While the THI's Bachelor's degree programmes mainly start in the winter semester, it is mainly the Master's degree programmes that start in the summer semester. A good 100 students are starting in the three Bachelor's programmes Energy Systems and Renewable Energies, Industrial Engineering and Management, and around 220 in the Master's programmes. 60 of them are exchange students. Prof. Dr. Walter Schober called on the first-semester students to also plan a semester abroad for themselves: "Because of the pandemic, it was difficult in the past two years, but in the meantime we can assume in perspective that a semester at one of the approximately 150 partner universities of the THI is now possible again."

Following the welcome, numerous associations presented their offerings, including the student associations as well as the student council.

In addition to the new students, two new professors also began their work at the THI in March: Dr Stefanie Wrobel is Professor of Business Development & Transformation Management in THI's new Foresight Institute and Thomas Siegel is Professor of Product Design. With this, the THI, with its approximately 6400 students, grows to almost 800 employees, including approximately 200 professors and 200 research assistants.
