Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) has a new women's representative: the university's senate unanimously elected Prof. Dr. Michaela Regler as the new incumbent. She takes over from Prof. Dr. Katherine Roegner, who was recently elected Vice President for Teaching and Digitization.

Regler is a professor in the private commercial law department as well as a talent officer at THI Business School. She has already served as the faculty's deputy women's representative from 2014 to 2016, as well as vice president for teaching, students and alumni from 2016 to 2019. After studying and earning her doctorate at the University of Regensburg and professional positions in academia, companies and law firms, she accepted the call to THI in 2009.

Prof. Dr. Michaela Regler: "I am delighted about the election as Women's Representative. THI will grow strongly in the next few years. It is a matter of concern to me that we further increase the proportion of women at THI with the numerous newly advertised professorships."

THI President Prof. Dr. Walter Schober: "For us as a technical university, the promotion of women in science is a core concern. We are convinced that diversity, and that includes the advancement of women, contributes to the success of a university. I am very much looking forward to working with Professor Regler."

THI's Women's Representative is a voting member of the Senate and the Extended University Executive Board. Her task is to strengthen the position of female scientists, female teachers and female students.

The women's and equal opportunity officers at Bavarian universities are jointly involved in a state conference (LaKoF), which launched a campaign in January to increase the proportion of women among Bavarian professors. Information on this can be found at http://www.werdeprofessorin.de.
