Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) will start the new bachelor's degree program Autonomous Vehicle Engineering (B. Eng.) in the winter semester 2020/21. The seven-semester course in English qualifies students from all over the world to develop solutions for highly automated and autonomous driving. The program is located at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology.
During their studies, the prospective engineers acquire specialist knowledge from the fields of electrical engineering and information technology as well as software engineering - interdisciplinary knowledge that they need in order to develop automated or autonomous mobility systems that are economical and sustainable.
In the course of the bachelor's programme, students will acquire skills in the fields of sensor technology, sensor systems and sensor data fusion (for recording the environment), in model-based software development and intelligent algorithms (for creating a driving strategy) as well as knowledge of the control and regulation of actuators (for the safe implementation of the driving strategy). In group projects, students apply their knowledge in practice and become familiar with working in international teams. A dual study is also possible.
Graduates of the programme will find interesting fields of activity in the entire field of digitised mobility, both on the engineering side and in the fields of artificial intelligence, software development, networking or data management.
Applications for the start in the winter semester 2020/21 are possible until 20.08.
