University Information Days on 24 and 25 March

Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) is opening its doors: on Saturday, 25 March, those interested can find out about the range of courses on offer, take a look at laboratories, get a taste of life on campus and even take a seat in a drone prototype. The highlight will be a live broadcast from the operating theatre of Ingolstadt Hospital. The Sustainability Campus in Neuburg will already present itself on Friday, 24 March.

Studying with AI, researching in high-tech labs and working on the future of mobility: this and much more awaits young people who decide to study at Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI). To find out about the extensive range of courses on offer and student life as well as the research projects on site, the THI will once again be opening its campuses in Ingolstadt and Neuburg on 24 and 25 March 2023. On the one hand, numerous lectures at the Higher Education Information Days (HIT) will provide orientation on the Bachelor's degree programmes. On the other hand, guided tours provide exciting insights into science and teaching.

On Friday, 24 March, there will be an opportunity to explore the Neuburg campus on the Danube. From 4 to 6 p.m., the Faculty of Sustainable Infrastructure will present itself. Three lectures will provide information about the degree programmes Sustainable Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering - Construction and Sustainability and Environmental Management. Guided tours with students will also be offered.

On Saturday, 25 March, the University of Applied Sciences in Ingolstadt will present itself from 10 am to 2 pm. During campus tours, the student ambassadors will tell you everything you need to know about student life at the THI. At the information stands, professors, student advisors and students will be on hand to answer any questions. The faculties of Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology as well as the THI Business School will present themselves at various lectures.

THI-SuccessAI revolutionises university teaching with AI

Vice-President Prof. Dr. Hans-Joachim Hof will present a very special project at 11.30 a.m. in room E103 during his lecture "Studying with AI". The digital learning platform THI-SuccessAI is revolutionising university teaching through the use of artificial intelligence. With individual learning paths, personalised learning nuggets and an AI mentor in the form of a chatbot, the platform ensures an optimal learning experience. Visitors to the HIT can watch the new image film on THI-SuccessAI at the interactive stand in the assembly hall and try out the digital learning units directly on site.

Anyone who has always wanted to take a look at the THI's research labs can explore the robotics lab, the user experience lab or the wind tunnel, among other things, at the HIT. THI's computer scientists programme virtual environments and invite you to take a look around the VR Cave. The aeronautical engineers present the Rolls Royce engine "Dart". Prof. Jana Bochert conducts research at THI on the topic of building dynamics and how buildings can react flexibly to shocks and vibrations of all kinds. She simulates various situations in the laboratory, allowing everyone to feel the vibrations for themselves.

Those interested can also find out what is behind the field of life sciences. Courses such as bio- and medical informatics, biomedical engineering or biomechanics show how technology and IT are increasingly revolutionising healthcare. At the HIT, researchers will also show which forward-looking research projects have already been implemented in reality. Among other things, the autonomous vehicle ANTON will be on display and visitors can take a seat in the prototype of a passenger drone. Experiments and workshops round off the offer.

Of course, the staff of the student advisory service will be available to answer questions and explain, for example, how a university application works or how the dual study programme works.

Live from the operating room of Ingolstadt Hospital

The organisers have saved the highlight for last. At 2 p.m. there will be a live broadcast from the operating room of the Ingolstadt Hospital. Those interested can experience in lecture theatre G105 or online how much technology is needed for a treatment nowadays. The Da Vinci surgical system, a robot-assisted surgical system, will also be used.
While prospective students do not need to register for the lectures, they do need to register for the guided tours. This is possible until 20 March. On the University Information Day itself, remaining places can still be allocated. The entire programme, the links for registration, for the live broadcast from the operating theatre as well as further information on the University Information Days can be found on the website.
