AutomotiveUI (or AutoUI for short) is the international ACM SIGCHI conference on automotive user interfaces and interactive vehicle applications. It is the leading forum for automotive UI research. Each year, the conference brings together researchers with practitioners interested in both the technical and human aspects of user interfaces and applications in vehicles.
In six thematic sessions, scientists address current research trends. For example, they will explore how technical systems can increase road safety by interacting with pedestrians and cyclists. Keynotes will be given by Professor Klaus Bengler, Technical University of Munich, Professor Marco Dozza, Chalmers University of Technology, and Doreen Engelhardt, User Experience Developer at Audi. AutomotiveUI organizers Professor Andreas Riener, THI, and Professor Bastian Pfleging, TU Bergakademie Freiberg, expect around 250 participants from academia and industry: "Through the conference organization, we have made numerous new contacts with companies and intensified cooperation with existing partners such as our main sponsor BMW," says Riener.
