Digitally successful companies are planted on and use creative, IT-based business models. This Bachelor degree course provides the expertise required. Students acquire a sound business grasp of marketing, learning how to develop digital products and services and how to implement them in technologically efficient manners along the entire digital value creation chain.
The degree course Digital Business addresses the digital challenges that will lead to radical upheaval in many companies. With the introduction of mobile devices, wearables such as smart glasses and the Internet of Things, products and services will in many sectors be largely defined by software, devices such as sensors and the networking of these elements: Successful examples are already operating in the automotive industry (cars as networked mobile end devices or forming elements of new mobility concepts), in mechanical engineering and other industries (Industry 4.0 as the generic term for intelligently networked factories, innovative logistics solutions etc.) and in retail (e.g. mobile payment solutions, shopping apps and digital showrooms with augmented reality components).
The course focuses on the design, implementation and management of this type of digital business solution. By means of seminar-like classes, case studies, project work - in some cases based on collaboration with companies - as well as other active learning methods, students acquire the skills required to proficiently handle tasks along the entire digital value creation chain.
