Orientation and finding a sense of purpose in our society are becoming increasingly complex and difficult; day-to-day advice offered by friends, acquaintances and family members is often insufficient to tackle problems and crises.
At THI there is a place to go for students who need support in handling a whole range of different problems. Counselling is provided by Studentenwerk Erlangen-Nürnberg. They are very experienced in working with youngsters and young adults. Appointments can be made by contacting the Studentenwerk Erlangen-Nürnberg. The Counselling is carried out on a person-to-person basis. It is confidential, free of charge and can also be carried out anonymously on request. Confidentiality here also means that there is no interface with university bodies and no access to student data systems.
Open consultation-hours: On Wednesdays 15.00 - 16.00 o'clock
At Studentenwohnheim Studentenwerk Erlangen-Nürnberg:
Beckerstraße 15-17, 85049 Ingolstadt. Room at the left side on the ground-floor.
The open consultation hour can be used for a first, non-binding contact and the clarification of the need for advice. It is a way to get information about problems and support. Questions and concerns of limited extent can be discussed. If necessary, the open consultation hours are, in addition to the agreed appointments, also open for students that are already in our consultation.
The counselling is confidential and you may remain anonymous if requested. The psychologist is bound by the duty of confidentiality - even within the university.
For the counselling a small fee is charged (10 Euro for single, 15 Euro for couple and family talks), which can, however, be waived to students in difficult financial situations.
