SUMMARY:Startup Opportunities: future drone defence

URL:https://www.thi.de/en/research/research-events-detail/news/startup-opportunities-future-drone-defence/
DESCRIPTION:Following our introductory event on dual-use and defence together with brigkAir in the summer, we are now focusing on a specific use case: the defence against drone attacks on civil and military infrastructure. The workshop on 11 December 2025 at the brigk Makerspace Ingolstadt will focus on technologies and system architectures for counter-UAS. Together with start-ups, industry and research, we are developing innovative approaches for security, collaboration and practical technology transfer.\n📅 11 December 2025🕑 13:00 - 18:30📍 Makerspace, brigk - Kavalier Dalwigk, Ingolstadt This workshop focuses on the interaction of technologies and system architectures for drone defence.Based on an introductory system architecture for counter-UAS, participants will work in groups to develop and discuss technical solution contributions along the functional chain "reconnaissance", "battle management" and "effect". What you can expect: Introduction to a specific defence application scenario: drone defence as a multidisciplinary challenge.Systemic view: Architectural principles, interfaces and operational processes of current and future C-UAS systems.Group work in three technical dimensions:1. Reconnaissance: sensor technology, detection, classification of threats2. Battle management: data fusion, decision support, command and control processes3. Impact: defence mechanisms from soft to hard kill solutionsExchange at eye level: Start-ups, industry and research jointly discuss innovative approaches, synergies andinterfacesNetworking & co-creation: Develop concrete solutions and project ideas in interdisciplinary teams. The event is aimed at anyone who is active in the defence sector or develops dual-use technologies and would like to find out how their technologies dock into C-UAS architectures (sensor technology, AI/analytics, edge/cloud, battle management, effectors, simulation/testing). As we would like to ensure a balanced group of participants, we ask for a short application by 01.12.2025 at the latest: 👉 [Apply now] We look forward to an exciting continuation of our Defence Innovation Format - with a focus on technology, collaboration and practical transfer.
