• Requirements

The prerequisite for admission to studies at Ingolstadt University of Applied Sciences is either the general or subject-specific university entrance qualification or the advanced technical college entrance qualification. Regulations regarding prior practical experience are laid down in the study and examination regulations of the respective degree programs.

The dual study programme enables a combination of practical training elements in a company and theoretical training at the university. Either the combined model (study & vocational training) or the study programme with in-depth practice (study and intensive practical phases) can be chosen. The advantage for students is obvious: with a practice-oriented academic education, the transition from study to work is usually smooth. In addition, the student is usually financially compensated by the respective company.

Students are required to complete a total of eight weeks of preliminary practice.  Preliminary practice can be completed before the start of the degree programme and during the lecture-free period. The entire eight weeks must be completed by the beginning of the fourth semester at the latest.

Due to its multidisciplinary orientation, a degree in biomechanics opens up a wide range of tasks in very different industries:

• In product design and the development of sports equipment that can be individually adapted to customer wishes or that is suitable for a wide range of buyers: Both require precise knowledge of sports science and human-machine interaction.
• In prosthetics and rehabilitation technology: develop aids and support systems that meet a wide range of needs.  
• In the field of product development and ergonomics, from high-tech bicycles to office chairs.
