Mensch in Bewegung (MiB)

Mensch in Bewegung is a joint project of Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) and Katholische Universität Eichstätt-Ingolstadt (KU).
The 21st century brings with it urgent challenges - such as climate change, digitalization of the world of life and work, changing mobility requirements and social inequality. In these times, universities must also contribute to positive change with innovative ideas. KU and THI are taking on this task during the five-year project period and beyond.
What new ideas are there for mobility? How can Region 10 develop sustainably? How can the digital transformation in the world of living and working be shaped well? And how can civic engagement help with the challenges of our time? These are the central questions of the project.

SAFIR - Safety for all – Innovative Research Partnership on Global Vehicle and Road Safety Systems

The SAFIR research partnership links Ingolstadt University of Technology with more than 20 partners from industry and public institutions and aims to take road safety to a new level. The research program is embedded in the CARISSMA research and test center and benefits from the use of the infrastructure as well as the expertise of the professors in the respective topics. The total project volume of SAFIR, including the funding provided by industry, is approximately €7.4 million.

SAFIR will enter the intensification phase this year and will thus be funded for another four years by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) under the funding measure "Strong Universities of Applied Sciences - Impulse for the Region" (FH-Impuls). From 2021 to 2024, the ministry will provide THI with further funding of 4.7 million euros. In addition, the professors involved in SAFIR were able to attract around 1 million euros in third-party funding from industrial partners.
