Isabelle Knöll, Master student
Why did you decide to study for a Master's degree in technical purchasing at THI?
It was particularly important for me to specialise in a future-relevant area in the Master's programme and to maintain the combination of technology and business. In addition, internationality and a high level of practical orientation were important criteria for me. The Master's programme in Technical Procurement Management (M.Eng.) at the THI offers exactly these characteristics and also focuses on sustainability and digitalisation.
What was your experience like?
The lectures are specifically geared towards the disciplines of modern, strategic procurement and reflect the diverse areas of responsibility very well. The mostly small group sizes offer a lot of room for professional discussions and personal exchange. I also particularly like the fact that most lectures include case studies in teamwork, presentations from industry or project work in cooperation with industry partners in addition to theory. So far, I have been particularly enthusiastic about the negotiation training, the elective Digital Procurement Engineering and the international project with partner universities from South Africa, the USA and Thailand.
What would you recommend to interested students?
You can get an authentic impression of the Master's programme in Technical Procurement Management by participating in the Master Talk events at THI, which are conducted by the programme director and students. These offer insights into the personal experiences of the students and at the same time the opportunity to answer individual questions.
My personal tip: Choose a Master's programme according to what you enjoy most.
