The degree programme “Engineering and Business” provides academic knowledge in the fields of Engineering and Business Administration. Students enhance sound knowledge in design and construction, computer science, electronic and electrical engineering, material technology, process and climate engineering, cost and investment management, marketing, law, taxes and HR management. Engineering theory will be applied in the modern, well equipped laboratories of our university. Social skills will be trained in small teams. Foreign language courses and other elective subjects prepare students for professional activities on the global market.
The regular period of study consists of seven semesters. The program requires good knowledge of Mathematics and Physics. It is divided into two modules. The introductory module covers two theoretical semesters. The second module includes four theoretical semesters and a practical semester. At the beginning of the sixth semester students will have to choose one field of study from the following list: Production and Logistics; Product Management; Automotive Engineering.
Several obligatory courses are held in German and English at the same time, students may well choose between one of the languages for their exams.
Study materials are available in both languages, exams taken in English will be especially mentioned in your diploma.

The dual degree combines practical training elements in a company with the theoretical education provided by the university. There is a choice of either the joint model (academic study + vocational training) or the degree course with vocational experience (academic study + intense practical phases). There is an obvious advantage to students here: practically oriented academic study generally enables a particularly smooth transition from university to the world of work. What is more, the student usually receives financial remuneration from the company concerned.
Our graduates are working in professional areas like project management, product management, controlling, production, logistics and technical marketing.
The study programme requires a preparatory internship of at least 6 weeks, which has to be completed before the start of the 4th semester (during semester breaks). The preparatory internship is not part of our admission requirements.

- General information on scholarship:
Public funding (BAföG) is only available to Germans and to EU citizens if they have spent a considerable part of their education in Germany. The university awards a scholarship called Deutschlandstipendium once a year which cannot fully cover living expenses. Additionally we have limited funds and support some international students for a maximum of one semester. Please do not actively approach the International Office on scholarships, once a year a call for application automatically reaches all international students.

Practical courses in laboratories of material technology, physics, data processing, production technology or working with engine test rigs are important components of the programme. The applied approach is supported by project studies that enable students to work under guidance of professors and together with companies on current operational problems. Students learn in this way to apply their theoretical knowledge to a complex professional environment while meeting at the same time possible future employers.
