Student project: Interaction design for relationship building with unborn babies

Wondr Design Ecosystem Graphik student project

Students of the Master User Experience Design developed Wondr, an interaction touch design concept, within the framework of a Master project. The concept is primarily aimed at fathers/partner parents as well as expectant mothers to help them experience pregnancy better and to strengthen the family's bond with the unborn child. Here, students engage with touch as a modality of interaction from a design perspective. The Wondr design ecosystem is complemented by a WondrBelt, WondrBand, WondrPods & the associated WondrApp. Master students Robins Mathew, Subha Nair and Mariia Novik worked on this study project under the supervision of Prof. Veronika Ritzer.

The design was nominated at the UX Design Awards - an award of the International Design Centre Berlin - among more than 300 entries from 48 nations for the competition for the UX Design Awards 2022 Finals.

In addition, Wondr was selected as one of the 5 best projects in the German UPA UX Competition 2022, which were submitted from all over Germany this year. It was awarded 5th place in the finals by live voting during the MuC in Darmstadt at the "German UPA Evening Event".
