The W2 professorship at THI includes tasks and activities in teaching, research and transfer. This professorship is complemented by a W1 junior professorship, which leads to a W2 professorship after successful evaluation. The professorships are awarded through an appointment procedure involving internal and external professors and reviewers.

In the next few years, THI will grow from 6,900 to around 10,000 students. In addition, applied research will be significantly expanded, especially through Ingolstadt's positioning as an AI mobility hub. This expansion will lead to a significant increase in new appointments.
